DAVID, THE WARRIOR BY PASTOR JOSHUA- Digging Deep
Topic: DAVID, THE WARRIOR
Text: 1 Samuel 17:26
INTRODUCTION
The sudden move of the shepherd boy to being a WARRIOR was out of his love for the Lord; not wanting the Lord's Name defied.
A shepherd and a WARRIOR is an unusual combination. So also is our Lord who is a Lamb and a LION. So, anyone for Higher Heights should be of an unusual nature.
“You are called to be a Soldier and not a Civilian, hence we have battles to fight.”
There are battles to fight: Our GOD is a man of war. David was one, and anyone that will emerge a winner in life must be ready for warfare.
The reign of David saw the end of the giants in the land and there was peace when his son came to the throne. Exodus 15:3, 1 Timothy 1:18, 1 Kings 5:3-4.
SEVEN STEPS TO ABSOLUTE VICTORY
a. Be jealous for GOD: 1 Samuel 17:26, Daniel 6:8-11, 3:1-6, 16-17.
b. Be bold and courageous: 1 Samuel 17:32, Deuteronomy 20:1-4, Joshua 1:5-6.
c. Absolute reliance on GOD: 1 Samuel 17:34-37, Psalms 20:7, Proverbs 21:31, Hebrews 13:8. Our God is Consistent.
d. Trust NOT IN ARMOUR OF THE FLESH: 1 Samuel 17:39, Psalms 44:6, Hosea 1:7, 2 Corinthians 10:3-4.
e. Be not INTIMIDATED by what you see: 1 Samuel 17:43-45, Exodus 14:11-16, Hebrews 12:2.
f. Be on the attack: Attack is the best way of defense. James 4:7, Ephesians 4:27.
g. Weak things can accomplish great things: 1 Samuel 17:40, Exodus 4:2, Jude 1:5-15. God handed over the giant into his hands and the remaining four. 1 Samuel 17:51, 2 Samuel 21:15-22.
CONCLUSION
It is my prayer that you will overcome the battle of life in Jesus Name, and the Testimony of David will be yours. 2 Samuel 22:33-35.
