Daddy G.O's Gives Advice to Government at Lagos State Special Thanksgiving

Change of tactics’ll ensure success in 2013 – Pastor Adeboye

AdeboyeThe General Overseer, the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has urged Nigerians to change their tactics to ensure their successes and that of Nigeria in 2013.
The cleric spoke on Sunday during the Lagos State Annual Thanksgiving Service at the Lagos House, Alausa, Ikeja.
He said he had discovered that the world is a university.
Adeboye said his experience had made him draw some resolutions which could be adopted by anybody in the New Year.
“My number one resolution is that I have decided to worship God in 2013 like never before. I will open my mouth to tell God exactly how things are with me,” he said.
He advised Nigerians to also humble themselves more than ever before and not be afraid to ask anybody for help as long as he could solve the problem.
Adeboye urged Nigerians to give out more cheerfully and trust men less, while trusting God more.
He said, “We must work closely with God and also not do anything that will annoy him.”
The general overseer predicted that 2013 would be better than last year, advising Nigerians to draw nearer to God.
On his part, Governor Babatunde Fashola urged residents of the state to cast aside partisan interests and seek ways of improving their communities.
He said although the state and the country experienced floods, plane crash and other incidents in 2012, the tragedies also brought hope in form of public-spirited nature exhibited by Nigerians.
He said some people became relief workers, volunteers and went beyond duties to lend helping hands to fellow Nigerians in distress.
Fashola said, “These major incidents brought out the collective will of Nigerians to rise and be our brother’s keepers.
“This has shown that selflessness and the spirit of brotherhood must be exhibited by all in our everyday lives for the sake of our nation.”
Fashola warned Lagosians to cultivate the spirit of community awareness, insisting that in so doing the state would be spared tragedies in 2013.
He urged visitors to the state to always obey the laws and help in building the state.
He said, “Many people will come to Lagos in 2013; we will welcome them. But the message is you must abide by our rules and regulations. Seek ways to contribute to societies around you.”
Dignitaries at the event were the Presiding Pastor, Guiding Light Assembly, Pastor Wale Adefarasin; Prelate of the Methodist Church (Nigeria), Dr. Ola Makinde; Bishop of Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Most Revd Ephrahim Ademowo; Pastor Sam Adeyemi of Daystar Christian Assembly; General Overseer of Foursquare Gospel Church, Revd Felix Meduoye and Revd Mercy Ezekiel of the Christian Pentecostal Mission.
